CRRC Transportation and Ikarus Cooperated to Successfully Win the Bid for Pure Electric Buses in KaposváR, Hungary

Recently, Electrobus Europe Zrt. (hereinafter referred to as "Electrobus"), a joint venture between Greenpulse Urban Transportation (Europe) Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of CRRC Transportation in Europe, hereinafter referred to as "European Company") and Ikarus Group of Hungary, successfully won the order for pure electric buses in Kaposvár, Hungary.

Recently, Electrobus Europe Zrt. (hereinafter referred to as "Electrobus"), a joint venture between Greenpulse Urban Transportation (Europe) Co., Ltd. (a subsidiary of CRRC Transportation in Europe, hereinafter referred to as "European Company") and Ikarus Group of Hungary, successfully won the order for pure electric buses in Kaposvár, Hungary.

After more than three years of development, trial production, verification and mass production, the joint venture finally achieved a breakthrough in orders, which is a milestone for Electrobus and also witnessed the development of industrial cooperation between China and Hungary.

In 2018, the European company and Ikarus Group, a well-established Hungarian vehicle manufacturer, jointly established Electrobus Zrt. With the support of Shanghai Electric Vehicle Technology, a subsidiary of CRRC Transportation, the joint venture has achieved the perfect integration of CRRC's leading electric drive and control technology and Ikarus' vehicle manufacturing process, and developed a high-quality, high-performance pure electric bus product for the European market - the City Pioneer series, which was successfully tested and operated in Hungary, Germany and other places after obtaining EU certification.
With the advantages of short delivery time and high comprehensive cost-effectiveness, Electrobus finally stood out from strong competitors and successfully won the bid. The winning model this time is the third-generation 12-meter pure electric bus of the Electrobus "City Pioneer" series. In compliance with European standards and requirements, the vehicle uses a stainless steel body independently developed by Icarus, with a service life of up to 16 years, far exceeding the European average of 12 years. It is anti-corrosive and lightweight. The three-electric system in the core components of the vehicle comes from CRRC Times Electric, and the full-load range reaches 250 kilometers.
As a shuttle bus, the winning model also participated in the Munich International Automobile and Smart Mobility Expo (IAA Mobility) held from September 7 to 12 this year. Starting from September 15, the model will join the electric bus trial operation project of the Budapest Transport Center (BKK) and ArrivaBus, and participate in the passenger operation of bus No. 105 in the core section of the city center.
